Massage Therapy Toronto

What we do.

Massage therapy is a form of physical treatment that involves manipulating the soft tissues of the body, primarily muscles and tendons to promote relaxation, reduce pain, improve circulation, and support overall well-being. There are different types of massage therapy, each serving unique purposes. Some common forms include:

1. Swedish Massage: A gentle form of massage that uses long strokes, kneading, and circular movements to relax the body and improve circulation.

2. Deep Tissue Massage: Focuses on deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to alleviate chronic pain or tension, often targeting specific areas of discomfort.

3. Trigger Point Therapy: Targets areas of tight muscle fibers (trigger points) that can refer pain to other parts of the body.

At Balance Physiotherapy, many of our clients benefit from massage therapy with one of our experienced and skilled Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs). Massage therapy is often provided to complement a client’s active program and the RMT becomes an important member of the multi-disciplinary team. For neurological and complex orthopedic injuries, massage therapy can be used to decrease tone and spasticity, improve range of motion, and stimulate lymphatic drainage and blood circulation.
