Occupational Therapy Toronto

What we do.

Occupational therapy (OT) is a healthcare profession that focuses on helping individuals of all ages engage in meaningful activities (or “occupations”) that are important to their daily lives. The goal of occupational therapy is to help people perform tasks that they may find difficult due to physical, mental, or cognitive impairments.

Occupational therapists are key in neurorehabilitation, helping individuals improve their daily function and participation in life. Using therapeutic techniques, adaptive strategies, and assistive technologies, they enable patients to master essential tasks and adapt their environments.

At Balance Physiotherapy, our Occupational therapist Stephanie Hadi works with individuals to improve their ability to perform daily activities, such as:

  • Self-care tasks: Dressing, grooming, bathing, eating, and other personal hygiene tasks.

  • Work-related tasks: Tasks involved in one’s job or career, including using equipment, managing work-related stress, and organizing tasks.

  • Home management: Cooking, cleaning, organizing, and other household responsibilities.

  • Leisure and social activities: Engaging in hobbies, sports, and social interactions that enhance quality of life.

There is also a strong focus on physical rehabilitation within Occupational therapy at Balance. Stephanie specializes in upper limb treatments and is able to assist clients recover from injuries, surgeries or conditions such as spinal cord injury, stroke and arthritis.
